A relaxed image of two parents together with their newborn baby during a photography session at their home

Newborn baby photography at home

I recently had the pleasure of carrying out a newborn photography session at home in London with baby Mira. It was a really gorgeous session and I’m delighted to share a few of the images here to you to see.

There are lots of types of newborn photography, and different ways that you can go about this. Some people opt for a studio photography session, or a more posed set up for their baby. My style is newborn photography sessions at home, as this enables me to photograph things in a much more natural way. I love to see new families in their home environment, and with familiar surroundings. I’ll give you a little guidance, but I don’t pose your baby. I just photograph them as they are: in your arms, lying on the bed or in their cot. I want the whole experience to be relaxing for you all, and for the images to genuinely capture a sense of this special time in your lives.

For this newborn session, it was wonderful to spend a relaxed couple of hours with Mira and family together at home. She was utterly gorgeous to photograph, and it was a real pleasure to get to know parents Sonali and Tanush a little while I was there. We had the added benefit of Sonali’s parents being involved as well, so Mira got to have some photographs with her grandparents as well. It was so special to create some images to capture this time for the family!

You can read more about newborn photography sessions here on my website. I also have a helpful blog post where I talk more about what to expect during a newborn photo session at home, which you can read here.

If you’d like to chat more about options for your own newborn baby photography at home, then I’d love to hear from you!
