An evening family session at the beach
I have been looking forward to sharing some images from this evening family photography session at the beach. It was just about as close to perfect as it gets! We had such gorgeous weather, and it was an absolute delight to photograph the family on holiday at Hope Cove in Devon. There was even a random pirate ship* sitting in the bay, adding the general otherworldly ambience.
We had such a lovely time, with the evening sun dropping over the sea. The girls had great fun paddling through the shallows, exploring the water and skimming stones across the sea. I was in my element. The gentle light twinkling off the waves, bare feet tiptoeing through the water, lots of giggles and fun. It was so wonderful to create a set of photos capturing the joy and the feelings of the evening.
I often talk to families about having their photography session in the evening, particularly for summer beach sessions. This is the perfect example of why it can work so well. It can make a real difference to have your photography session at this time of day. The soft light is more flattering, the heat of the day has worn off and the whole trip out can feel like a bit of an adventure. If you want to read more about this, I’ve written this longer blog post on the subject! Have a browse through these images and see how lovely everything looks in that soft evening light .
*I really do not know what this boat was. Hopefully not actual 19th century pirates. But I have tried to look it up and failed, so who knows.
If you would like to have photos like this with your family, then I’d love to chat to you about booking a session. You can read more here, or just fill out my contact form and I’ll be in touch!
