Bovey Castle wedding: Adeline & Pierluigi get married on Dartmoor
Yesterday, I had the enormous pleasure of photographing Adeline and Pierluigi’s beautiful Bovey Castle wedding. It was the loveliest, intimate ceremony, with just a few close family members. I was so delighted that they finally got to have their wedding, as they had to postpone their original 2020 date. This year, they were able to travel over from Italy, and finally have the wedding that they have been looking forward to.
It was definitely worth the wait! Bovey Castle weddings are always so beautiful. It’s a wonderful venue. Dartmoor holds a really special place in their hearts, and Bovey Castle is right in the middle of the area. The views across the terrace were just stunning all day, even as the showers kept on blowing through! Sadly, Pier’s parents weren’t able to travel for the wedding, but it was really special to see them via video call during the drinks reception. The whole day had such a wonderfully relaxed and luxurious feel to it. Laura Hingston created some absolutely incredible floral arrangements, and the sight and scent of these flowers was the perfect final touch.
Adeline’s siblings Lorna and Matthew arranged for the most wonderful surprise, with a vintage Landrover appearing late in the afternoon. We took advantage of this and drove over to nearby Hound Tor. Adeline and Pier were so keen to walk up the hill and take some photos at the top of the Tor, so that’s exactly what we did. The weather was so awful that – unsurprisingly – we were the only people there! It really felt like the whole place just belonged to them for that time. It was so wonderful to photograph some portraits of them in the winds at the top, with the Dartmoor views behind.
Here is just a tiny peek at their images. I can’t wait to get the full set together for them!
