2018: a round-up of this year’s incredible weddings
2018! What. A. Year! Just so many completely incredible celebrations that I have been invited to share and photograph. There is nothing quite like photographing weddings. The combination of the emotions, the people and the connections, the locations, the celebrations – it’s the most wonderful thing to do, and I love it so damn much. Going through all the images to select for this post was such a humbling task, and I am genuinely struggling to put into words how it has made me feel. Photography is the thing I love above all other things*, and photographing weddings completely makes my heart sing. I get so much pleasure from creating a set of images that captures those unique moments, the whole feeling of the day, the happiness that people experience; images that will be loved for generations.
This year has held so many amazing weddings, and every one of them has been incredibly special and unique. I have genuinely loved them all. So many completely beautiful wedding venues. And more outdoor weddings than ever before, which has been particularly lovely. How amazing to listen to birdsong while you say your wedding vows, or hear the waves crashing on the beach as you exchange rings. I’ve loved all of the locations that my couples have selected, but the ones out in the countryside or by the beach have been particularly memorable, from watching dolphins swimming in the Cornish sea to photographing wedding ceremonies with the rolling Devon hills behind them.
I don’t want to write a huge amount, because this post is supposed to be about the images, and it’s hard to get across how strongly I feel without ending up sounding insincere. But I cannot thank all of my couples enough. For choosing me. For inviting me in to one of the most important occasions of their lives. For letting me get to know them and their wonderful families and friends. For trusting me and believing in my approach and ability to capture all this for them. And for being just as amazing as I hoped they would be. I have absolutely loved getting to know you all, and even more, loved creating your images for you. Thank you all for being the wonderful people that you are!
I can’t wait to do it all over again in 2019!
*I said things, not people. Just to clarify, in case my family are reading.
If you made it this far, then thank you! I know there were a huge amount of images… I hope you enjoyed them as much as I loved creating them. If you are interested in wedding photography in 2019 or 2020 then please do get in touch, I’d love to hear from you!
