Best of 2025 family photography

Wow, what an incredible year of family photography it has been! Photographing family connections makes me so happy, creating images that capture all the love and joy in your lives. I have loved hearing all the feedback from families so delighted with their images – thank you so much for all your lovely comments and reviews! I have carried out such a lovely mixture of different sessions across this year. From big extended family get togethers, and families on holiday in the South West, to relaxed sessions with families in their own homes and favourite local spots. Most sessions have been in Devon and elsewhere around the South West, but I’ve also travelled for family photography in London, Bristol and the Cotswolds. I’ve had family members of all ages, including great-great-grandparents, adult family groups, a range of teenagers and younger children, and lots of gorgeous newborn babies. All of it has been an absolute joy to photograph!

Over the past few years, I have been successfully growing the family photography side of the business, and slowly decreasing the number of weddings I take on. This year I’ve carried out over 70 family photography sessions, which is my busiest year so far. I’ve always felt really passionate about creating beautiful family photos, about capturing the love and joy that is there in our everyday lives. We spend so much time together with our own families, and often don’t step back and look at how beautiful this is. It means so much to have a record of this particular time, right now in your lives. Children grow, families constantly change. There is something so incredibly special about creating these images for families to have for themselves, and the photographs become so precious as time moves on.

All of this year’s sessions have been so special. Some particularly so. It has been such an enormous privilege to be invited into families’ lives, for some at their most vulnerable times. I don’t ever take for granted how incredible it is to do this job, and it makes my heart so full when I hear how much people love their images, and how special they are to them.

So thank you, everyone who has been a part of my 2025 family photography. It really has been a wonderful year, and I’m so delighted to share a little peek at some of my favourite images.
