Best of 2022 wedding photography – a look at some of my favourites

I’ve been looking back through 2022’s wedding photography, and wow, it has been a belter of a year! I only take on a small number of weddings each year now, which means I get to really focus on each one. It also means that I can work exclusively with couples who really click with me and my photography, which means a more relaxed experience for everyone. The result has been the most fantastic 12 months – I’ve loved every bit of it!

Felicity and Aaron’s wonderful spring celebrations were such a beautiful start to the year, and I could not have finished in more spectacular fashion than with Lukas and Tamsin’s incredible autumn wedding at Hauser & Wirth in Somerset. In between, it was a huge pleasure to return to another of my favourite venues, River Cottage HQ, for some utterly gorgeous celebrations. I absolutely adored Tabby and Duncan’s wild and stylish woodland wedding on Dartmoor, and Jakki and Sheila’s celebrations at beautiful Lympstone Manor. And I was so delighted to discover Prussia Cove this year, the most stunning spot by the sea in Cornwall.

One of the stand out points of 2022 was Amy & Ashley’s wedding on the coast of Northern Ireland. I always love photographing weddings in different places. There is something so exciting about being somewhere new and capturing this in the images. It was such a treat to have a little trip in the middle of the year; to photograph their wedding in such an amazing spot. And so much light! It’s the first time my wedding photography has included a sunset over the sea at 11pm!

I’ve worked with some incredible wedding supplier teams over the course of this year, so here is a huge shout out to all of them. Every wedding has a whole host of unseen suppliers behind the scenes. Everyone puts in an enormous amount of effort into making everything come together so beautifully. It has been SUCH a pleasure to work with so much talent.

Finally, to all my couples: just my most heartfelt thanks for putting your trust in me. Thank you for inviting me to photograph your special wedding days. I know what a huge deal this is, and I feel so proud and humbled to be chosen by you. I have loved getting to know you all, and I can’t begin to tell you what a pleasure it has been to photograph your weddings. This selection of images is always so hard to keep to a reasonable number. I know the people, the moments, the meaning behind so many images. There are so many more that I would have liked to include, and I know that there are already too many… I have just loved this year of wedding photography though, and I want to share a bit of that joy with you here. I hope you enjoy looking through them!
