Tasha & Danny’s epic marquee wedding in North Devon
Just over a week ago, I photographed Natasha and Danny’s incredible wedding in North Devon. They had their celebrations in a marquee on Natasha’s family farm, overlooking the countryside and North Devon coastline. I can’t begin to describe how fantastic it all was!
It poured with rain for most of the day, Tasha and Danny got locked out of their wedding car and stranded at Hartland Point, the marquee was a bit snugger than expected, there was a total power cut at one point… and yet, it was one of the most epic and wonderful weddings ever! A day completely filled with all the love and all the celebration. A communal effort of vast proportions, with Tasha’s extended family pulling out all the stops to host the day: from the beautiful flowers, to the vast quantities of the most delicious wedding cake, the pasties that were plated up and delivered, the tractors that held the marquee in place through the high winds and so much more.
Not to mention how utterly wonderful Tasha and Danny were to photograph – just the loveliest couple, and such a complete pleasure to work with. Plus, Natasha looked OFF THE SCALE amazing in her wedding dress. Especially when she added a jumper and trainers for the evening. Absolute style icon!
The fireworks were Danny’s surprise for Natasha, and it was such an incredible display. It was quite emotional to see a couple of hundred people standing on the hills at the end of a day like that, staring up into the sky in appreciation. And then there was the dance floor… I always love photographing wedding dance floors, but this was a particularly good one. Danny and Tasha’s friends did a series of DJ sets for them, and had the floor packed with delighted guests for the entire evening. I think it was the music. Or maybe it was the free flowing Negronis from the tiki bar..? Anyway, it was all just utterly brilliant to photograph and I couldn’t have loved it more!
