An intimate family wedding at River Cottage: Christine & Rich
Christine and Richard celebrated their wedding at lovely River Cottage last weekend, and I absolutely loved photographing it all for them. They decided to have just an intimate celebration with their close family, with a small outdoor ceremony in the kitchen garden and a relaxed afternoon celebration in the farmhouse and yurt. It could not have gone better, with the beautiful October sunshine just the icing on the cake.
Christine and Rich got ready nearby in gorgeous Lyme Regis, and it was really great to start the day there, in the beautiful house the family were all staying in together. I love photographing children, and it is always brilliant to capture a bit of the organised chaos that ensues when the bride and groom have a family to prepare for the wedding as well as themselves. Happily, Christine and Rich had plenty of other family members around to help out, but I still really enjoyed photographing this part of the day, and laughing at the efforts to get the boys’ teeth brushed and outfits on. Then it was off to River Cottage, onto the tractor ride down the hill and into the kitchen garden for a really lovely ceremony, with a reading from Rich’s gran, and Christine and Rich’s boys all gathered around for the exchange of rings. This led on to a really relaxed afternoon in glorious sunshine, with drinks in the kitchen garden, a leisurely meal in the farmhouse, and some fun and games in the yurt to finish. I can’t wait to get editing the full set of images, it really was just such a fantastic day to be a part of. In the meantime, here is a little preview of their gorgeous day.
