Neadon Barn, Dartmoor wedding: Anna & Iggy’s beautiful celebration on the moors
It is such a pleasure to blog Anna and Iggy’s gorgeous Dartmoor wedding celebration. It was such a relaxed day, from Iggy and his groomsmen getting ready at Manaton, with the children playing in the barns, and Anna and bridesmaids walking up to the local hairdresser before getting ready back at Anna’s parent’s house.
Meanwhile, the wonderful team at Neadon were busy working hard on all the decorations. I have seen many really beautiful wedding reception rooms over the years, but Neadon at Manaton was something else. It is such a lovely venue in so many ways, with views over Dartmoor and nearby Great Tor, and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere for wedding celebrations. But it was inside the barn, fully dressed for the wedding reception, that really blew me away. It was an absolute work of art, with the dark interior of the barn completely illuminated with hundreds and hundreds of candles, on tables, along the walls, hanging in glass decorations from the ceiling. Such an incredibly special space to walk into, and it was amazing to see guests gasping in surprise and awe as they saw the inside of the barn.
Other highlights included Anna and Iggy travelling to their wedding reception on the back of a tractor. And, just to clarify, that’s not sitting comfortably in a luxury trailer, but literally standing on the back of the tractor, bumping down the tiniest Devon lanes. It was completely awesome and the best way to arrive at Neadon. The whole day was a wonderfully relaxed and gentle celebration, with a drinks reception in the gardens at Neadon and views over Dartmoor’s nearby Hound Tor, and a brilliant ceilidh in the barn after the meal to finish. I really loved photographing the whole day. Here is a selection of their images – enjoy!
