Family photography: best of 2021
2021 has been the most incredible year of family photography. It has been a year where families have really appreciated the opportunity to be together. In some cases, after a period of not being able to do this. It has felt even more important to photograph these times when they happen.
I’ve photographed families all over the place this year. Mostly in the South West, sometimes on the beach or moors, occasionally in the forest, often at home. It has all been such an enormous pleasure. I’ve loved seeing families that I’ve previously photographed. And I’ve loved meeting a whole lot of new families as well. There have been individual families at home, large family groups on holiday together, big birthday celebrations, new babies, anniversaries.
There is something incredibly special about capturing family moments like these. We spend so much time with our families, but things are constantly changing, and it means so much to have a beautiful record of this particular time, right now. Children grow, and families constantly change. As time passes, these moments become more and more precious. A family photography session is an amazing chance to capture these times. Something that you can look back on forever more.
It has been utterly wonderful to create images that capture all the love shared between all these people. I’ve hugely enjoyed going back through the galleries and picking out some of my favourite family photographs to share with you here. I hope you enjoy looking through all the smiles and all the love, just as I have genuinely loved photographing it all!
