An elopement wedding by the sea: Frances & Paul in Lyme Regis
An elopement wedding by the sea has to be one of the best ways to get married. Relaxed and intimate, with the waves crashing on the beach. It would certainly be high up on my bucket list, if I was ever going to get married again. NB this would obviously have to be to my existing husband.. I don’t know if he’s reading this..!
Frances and Paul got married in beautiful Lyme Regis, with just two friends as witnesses. It was a huge pleasure to be part of such a wonderfully relaxed and joyous celebration. They got ready at their holiday caravans in Charmouth (with lovely Hayley de Beers doing hair & make up). Then the intimate elopement wedding ceremony took place at the Lyme Regis Guildhall, which is probably one of the loveliest registry offices I know. It was such a relaxed celebration, with Frances and Paul both completely beaming with joy the whole way through. I really love the image of the two of them at the start of their ceremony, because of the utter delight on both of their faces!
Afterwards, we walked along the famous Cobb for some photographs. As well as lots of lovely relaxed portraits of Paul and Frances, we also sure that Frances’ beautiful Harriet Wilde shoes got a shot of their own! Then everyone sat down to eat and celebrate at Tom’s Lyme Regis, a lovely seafood restaurant overlooking the beach. The weather was just beautiful, and everyone had the most glorious day. I loved getting back to photographing weddings again after such a quiet year. It was a particular treat to have an elopement wedding, and wonderful to be by the sea. Such a great start to this year’s weddings.. I can’t wait for all the rest of 2021’s celebrations!
