A wedding by the sea: Amy & Ashley’s celebrations in Northern Ireland
I am so excited to share these images from Amy’s and Ashley’s wedding by the sea in Northern Ireland. I think this wedding was one of the most joyful and fun celebrations I have photographed. Just take a look at the party images! The band was fabulous and I don’t think I’ve ever seen so much spinning, leaping, flying hair. It was just the most wonderful of weddings. And it was right by the beach! Amy’s family have lived in Ballycastle for generations, so it was really special to celebrate here by the sea.
This wedding was originally planned for 2020, and Ashley and Amy had been through various postponements and alternative dates, before finally settling on May 2022. It was so worth the wait! With guests travelling from all over the world, it was amazing for them to finally be able to celebrate in style, with those sea views the whole way through.
The wedding ceremony was in the garden of Amy’s family home, with the sandy cliffs creating an impressive backdrop. The beautiful gardens were the perfect venue for the drinks afterwards as well, with different areas for the guests to explore, and the sound of the sea in the background. The marquee was just so stunningly decorated, and the caterers did the most incredible job. All the supplier details are below – they were all wonderful!
I absolutely loved this whole relaxed wedding. The sun came out in style for Amy and Ashley, and the weather really couldn’t have been much better. The soft sun was perfect at lunchtime for the wedding ceremony. Then glorious light streamed into the marquee for the rest of the day. And the sunset over the sea was something else. It really made me smile when I noticed Amy’s Dad’s message in the guest book.
Anyway, I’ll leave you to enjoy the images. Suffice to say, if you are going to hold a wedding by the sea, then this is definitely the way to do it!
A huge thank you to the wonderful team of suppliers involved in this wedding. Details to follow shortly…
