Devon countryside wedding: Kelly & Glenn at River Cottage
Wow, well, Kelly and Glenn’s Devon countryside wedding was a bit wonderful! It’s well over a year since Kelly first got in touch with me, and we’ve had many lovely conversations since in the lead up to the wedding day. I then also met up with Kelly and Glenn, and their gorgeous little boy, when they visited earlier in the year, and it was so fantastic to meet them in person at that point. Having got to know them so well, it was just a huge pleasure to finally photograph their beautiful day at River Cottage recently.
I really don’t think it could have gone any better – just a perfect celebration, and just as they had planned and hoped for. It was a really beautiful summer day, and the weather was completely perfect, right down to the wind which made the most of Kelly’s incredible dress. The outdoor ceremony in the kitchen garden went beautifully, and the rolling hills of the surrounding Devon countryside made such a gorgeous backdrop. One of my favourite photographs is of Kelly and her father walking up the pathway in the kitchen garden, approaching Glenn for the ceremony – such utterly genuine smiles, and what an amazing thing to get to this point after all the planning and preparation. The whole day had such a relaxed feel to it, and it was really wonderful to photograph all their guests having so much fun.
