Baby photos at the beach

I often talk about having baby photos at home, and would usually recommend this as the best option. But what about baby photography at the beach? What if you are in Devon on holiday with your new baby and you want to capture their first trip to the sea? Well that’s definitely another option, and exactly what we did with this lovely session here. The Harvey family were visiting North Devon, having their first family holiday together. They wanted to book a baby photography session to make the most of this special time, and get some photos by the sea.

I love the North Devon coastline, and it was such a beautiful place to visit for this session. The beaches here are some of my favourites for family photography, especially Putsborough. The sand is so flat and there is plenty of space, so we can always get away from other people. The sun sets over the sea, and the rocks add some structure, so it’s particularly beautiful. We waited until quite late in the day, so that the beach would have the softer evening light. Just a perfect spot to create some baby photos at the beach. Amelia even got to dip her toes in the water!
