Bride and groom having their first dance outside at Froginwell Vineyard

Lydia & Pete’s wedding at Froginwell Vineyard

Huge congratulations to the lovely Lydia and Pete, who had their wedding at Froginwell Vineyard in Exeter yesterday. I photographed a wedding at Froginwell Vineyard several years ago and loved it, but I was really delighted to see how much further the venue has been developed since then. The focus on the outdoor space is really wonderful, and it creates such a beautiful backdrop for wedding celebrations there.

I really felt for Lydia and Pete, as they are the loveliest couple, and they’ve had such a difficult build up to their wedding. When they booked their wedding celebrations at Froginwell, I don’t think any of us thought for a moment that there would be any restrictions in place for their wedding day. Then, two weeks before the wedding day, they had to reshuffle everything to fit with an unexpected set of new rules. Froginwell Vineyard were absolutely brilliant in helping them create the best day possible. Although guests had to be seated for all food and drink, the whole wedding still worked so well. Most importantly, it all had the feel and vibe that Lydia and Pete had been so keen to achieve.

It was just a wonderfully relaxed and enjoyable celebration for everyone there. Pretty much the whole day took place outdoors, even with a bit of rain early evening. The outdoor ceremony took place overlooking the vineyard and views beyond. Afterwards, guests were treated to acoustic music, with local food vans serving up pizza and burgers. I loved the whole feel to the day, with everyone incredibly relaxed and just having the best time!

But I think my very favourite bit of the celebrations at Froginwell Vineyard was Lydia and Pete’s first dance. It took place outside with festoon lighting strung up around and the guests watching around them. I would like to put in a request for all future dancing to be outside please. It’s beautiful, and it feels like being abroad. Thank you. Anyway, I’ll stop writing and post these photos so that you can have a peek! It really was just such a magical day, and I loved photographing it all!

Wonderful suppliers that helped make this such a fantastic wedding at Froginwell Vineyard:

Make up by Charlotte from Changing Faces and hair by Vanessa at VL hair & beauty. The brilliant music was from Sons in the Wild.
