River Cottage elopement wedding
Tuesday wasn’t quite the hottest day of the year, but it really did feel like it. Alex and Ben had a tiny elopement wedding at River Cottage, and it was stunningly beautiful. And unbelievably hot. We spent a lot of the day skulking around in the shadows and I’m not sure I stopped sweating at any point during the entire day. Too much information? Sorry. However, the farmhouse was mercifully cool for their intimate family dinner, and the sunshine really was beautiful, even if it was a little much. And when things softened in the evening, it was just stunning.
This was the third time I’ve been back to River Cottage this month, and each wedding has been so utterly different. Funnily enough, for a month with so much rain, the one thing in common with them all was the glorious sunshine that we’ve had. Plus, and I really do mean this from the bottom of my heart, all of them have been a complete joy to photograph.
Anyway, to just dwell on Alex and Ben’s wonderful day a little longer. It was a tiny family wedding, a secret elopement. Alex, Ben and their wonderful family were a fabulous bunch of people, and it was just such a beautiful celebration to be a part of. I shared the day with some other really great suppliers, and the team at River Cottage were utterly wonderful, as always. Huge thanks in particular to Lucy, Izzy and Connor for making this day so special.
That’s my last River Cottage wedding for this year, unless anyone wants to get in touch with any last minute enquiries! It has been the biggest pleasure to return there again, and a pleasure to share some more wedding days there with so many wonderful people.
