Kate & Kathryn get married: a relaxed wedding in Exeter
The sign said “Eat, drink and be married” and it was exactly what Kate and Kathryn did. Plus, they laughed a lot, which was particularly wonderful. With each other, with their friends and family around them, the day was packed full of smiles, and I loved being a part of it. Kate and Kathryn chose to get ready together at the Hotel Du Vin, and it was great to capture a few images of them as they prepared for the big event. From this relaxed start, they then strolled through the park and over the road to nearby Larkbeare House for their wedding ceremony. It was such a sweet and genuine ceremony, with plenty of giggles, especially with the registrar using both of their full names, resulting in them both saying the same thing: “I Kathryn, do take you Kathryn, to be my lawful wedded wife”. It was absolutely glorious in the sunshine outside afterwards for some confetti and photos, then Kate and Kathryn, and their guests, all headed back up to the Hotel du Vin for the reception.
It was all such a wonderfully relaxed celebration, and a real joy to see how happy Kate and Kathryn are together and capture this in their images. I loved hanging out with them, and their family and friends, and it was a huge pleasure to photograph their day. Congratulations both of you!
