Wedding photography: best of 2021

Well, what a year that has been! And what an incredible treat it has been to look back through it in wedding photos. After everything that we have all experienced through 2020 and early 2021, it has been a particularly moving year to photograph. The intensity of feelings has had me sobbing behind my camera on many occasions. The utter joy of being able to party and celebrate together. The raw emotion of finally seeing those important people. The disbelief and elation at finally having a wedding and actually getting married to each other at last.

I’ve taken wedding photos at tiny ceremonies, several with just a handful of guests, some with none. There have also been huge wedding weekend celebrations. I’ve finally photographed the weddings of several lovely couples who now feel like old friends, as we have moved through several postponed dates together. The joy of finally reaching that moment has been utterly wonderful to photograph, time and time again. My weddings have taken place in such varied locations: overlooking the sea, hidden in the woods, in churches, at family homes, from Devon and Cornwall, to further around the UK. Every single one of these celebrations has been utterly wonderful to capture in wedding photos, and I am filled with pride looking back across this year.

My last words go to the many really incredible couples of 2021. Restrictions through some bits of this year have meant me swinging from periods of no work, to being intensely busy, more so than ever before. All my wedding couples have been wonderfully patient while I’ve done my best to stay on top of the workload. I am so grateful for this. Thank you, every one of you – it has been just so wonderful to get to know you all, to share your beautiful celebrations, and to capture these joyful wedding photos for you. I’m so proud to share these.
